QFRC is always looking for new members who are enthusiastic about motor sport, fire fighting and accident rescue.
To join, you need to be over 18 years old, able-bodied enough to carry a fire extinguisher, and have the time to commit to six or more weekends a year. We will provide full training (previous fire fighting experience is not necessary), an opportunity for you to be involved in motor sport, one of the best seats in the house, and some occasional excitement. You will also be encouraged to become a Motorsport Australia Accredited Official - we will provide you with details on applying. You will undertake a probationary period of six months, during which you are required to attend at least 6 days of club events including at least 2 drag racing days and at least 2 circuit racing events. While this is the minimum for a probationary member, we encourage you to attend as many events as possible during the probationary period. Circuit events are held at Morgan Park Racewa
y, Warwick and Drag racing events are held at Willowbank Raceway. You will be placed under the supervision of an experienced marshal at these meetings who will explain basic track craft and fire fighting techniques. Occasionally QFRC has social activities as well as events. These may include club barbecues or visits to motorsport team facilities, for example Dick Johnson Racing, the Bowden's Own Motorsport facility, Team Bray Racing among others. If you are interested in joining, our contact details are on the Contact QFRC page, or email secretary.qfrcinc@gmail.com and we can send you further information. Please send us your name, email address or contact one of the senior Committee members at an event.
